This is a challenging 6-day, 5-night module for the intermediate cyclist. Travelers have the chance to immerse themselves in the beauty and serenity of the Mekong Delta, while meandering through a maze of canals and creeks, passing by exotic tropical fruit orchards or riding on small trails through vast rice fields. This module has different phases with that could be considered High Impact (from Hoa Binh to Cuc Phuong National Park), while other parts are more classic and have less impact (for example in Hanoi). During the more sustainable parts, travelers stay in homestays, visit a national park and takes travelers offthebeatenpath by bicycle.

  • Have to study the tour  with operation / Sales and Production
  • Should prepare and check the bikes with the name (or number) of the travelers in advance in order not to lose time.
  • Should  check the cold water &  snacks every day  (number and place to buy and when)
  • Should check that the van/bus  is clean and ready for the traveler
  • For the restaurant, guide must call them before starting the tour to confirm about the food – And explain to the waiter/waitress to not be in a hurry with the clients, they must take their time to give the dishes.
  • Should have lunch together with the Active clients.
  • Should check the climate conditions before the tour to avoid risks (for example; bring rain coats) and be careful during the tour not to put the lives of the clients in danger. At the end of the day, he needs to check all the bikes and help the mechanic (if one ) to clean and fix them
  • Language – use polite language and adapt the behavior depending on the guests’ character and behavior

Guide must do the briefing every day before starting cycling – he needs to announce:

  • Cycling rules and signs to follow during the ride
  • Oblige the travelers to wear the helmet – it is mandatory
  • Distance and duration of the cycling day, points where they can take the van/bus if they want to reduce the cycling distance
  • Where they go, what they will visit, and points of interest
  • Type of terrain
  • Share some local insight and information about the locations, sites, culture before departure
  • Should give information about the code of conduct, how to behave on the destination respecting environment and locals

Day XX: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long
You will first set out to reach Cai Lay, where you will begin cycling and crossing over creeks lined by beautiful orchards. Today, you will have the chance to observe and learn the different artisinal skills from the region, like paper making, coconut candy making, and popped rice making. Crossing ferry several streams by local during the day, you’ll have the chance to observe the richness of the Mekong Delta and its sprawling plantations of exotic fruits, from durian and jackfruit to mangosteen, coconuts, and pomelos. Then, embark on a cruise heading to An Binh Island, where you will spend the night. If you’d like, set out and explore the island’s trails by cycling or walking after you arrive and settle in.
For the rest of the afternoon, you will be free to relax or to help prepare your dinner with the owner of the guesthouse.

Day XX: Vinh Long – Tra Vinh
Begin the day by embarking on a local boat to reach your vehicle that will take you to Vinh Long, a famous fruit town on the Mekong. From here, begin cycling through the countryside’s narrow lanes and lush orchards. The local life, vibrant and perched right on the riverbanks, will surely charm you as you pedal around the picturesque Delta homes and villages. Make a stop for lunch, before continuing through a coconut plantation. Then, catch a ferry to cross the main arm of the Mekong and head to Tra Vinh, a Khmer town where you will stay overnight. Ocne you arrive and settle in Tra Vinh, you will have plenty of time to explore its paths and trails if you’d like.

Today set out straight from your hotel to the Ba Om Lotus Pond, where you can stop and explore a Khmer temple, as well as a few villages sprawling along your path. As you cross bountiful rice fields, breathe in the tranquility that these landscapes exude until you reach Can Tho by bicycle (or by bus/van if you choose), where you will spend the night.

Day XX: Can Tho – Long Xuyen

The day will begin with a boat trip to the Cai Rang Market. Once you arrive, you can cycle or ride in the vehicle around the market along the river. Then, set off for the day on your bicycle, crossing through several more charming villages as you head to Stork Sanctuary. You’ll soak up incredible sights of seemingly-endless cottage industries, timber merchants, coconut shredders, small docks loading/unloading rice, and tiny, yet vibrant markets. Depending on how you feel, you can take the back-up vehicle to a local restaurant or will keep on cycling directly to the restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue riding through the picturesque countryside, before catching your vehicle back to your hotel in Long Xuyen.

After a short trip to the starting point, begin the day by riding along the busy river channels and traditional brick factories on the way to Chau Doc. Along the way, definitely make a stop to explore the Tra Su Natural Reserve, before arriving in Chau Doc and settling into the night’s accommodations.

Jour x: Ho Chi Minh Ville – Cai Be – Vinh Long
Vous rejoindrez Cay Lay par la route où vous commencerez votre parcours  à vélo à travers plusieurs vergers parsemés de canaux d’irrigation.
Aujourd’hui, vous aurez l’occasion d’observer et d’apprendre les différents savoir-faire artisanaux de la population locale : la fabrication du papier, la fabrication de bonbons à la noix de coco ainsi que celle du riz éclaté. Vous traverserez ensuite plusieurs cours d’eau avec un ferry local et observerez la richesse du Delta en passant dans les vergers fruitiers et plantations de durian, jack fruit, mangoustan, noix de coco et  pomelos. Puis vous rejoindrez l’île de An Binh en ferry où se situe votre maison d’hôte pour la nuit. L’après-midi vous aurez le temps d’explorerez les alentours ou d’aider vos hôtes à préparer le dîner.

De là, parcours à vélo à travers les ruelles étroites et les petits vergers. La vie colorée locale vous surprendra pendant que vous pédalerez parmi des pittoresques maisons et villages du delta.
Après la pause déjeuner continuation de votre parcours à travers une plantation de noix de coco. Puis prenez un ferry pour traverser le bras principal du Mékong en direction de Tra Vinh, une ville khmère où vous passerez la nuit. Parcours pour explorer les pistes et les sentiers une fois arrivé à Tra Vinh.

En chemin, vous traverserez des rizières et profiterez de la quiétude de ces paysages jusqu’à Can Tho que vous rejoindrez par la route ou à vélo pour y passer la nuit.

Jour xx  Can Tho – Long Xuyen
Vous commencerez votre journée par une excursion en bateau vers le marché  de Cai Rang. Une fois arrivé, vous parcourrez le marché le long de la rivière puis rejoindrez en traversant plusieurs villages le sanctuaire des oiseaux de Stork Sanctuary. Vous pourrez observer des sites d’industries artisanales sans fin, marchands de bois, broyeurs de noix de coco, petits quais de chargement / déchargement du riz, et les petits marchés dynamiques. Selon votre choix vous rejoindrez votre véhicule pour un court transfert vers le restaurant ou continuerez à le parcours à vélo.
L’après-midi vous parcourez à vélo la campagne tranquille du Delta du Mékong avant le transfert pour votre hôtel à Long Xuyen

Ce matin vous rejoindrez en transport le point de départ de votre parcours à vélo. Vous roulerez le long des canaux bordés par des usines de briques traditionnelles en direction de Chau Doc, proche de la frontière cambodgienne. Sur le chemin vous vous arrêterez pour explorer la réserve naturelle de Tra Su avant d’arriver à Chau Doc.

Día XX: Ciudad Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be – Vinh Long 
En primer lugar se dirigirá a Cai Lay, donde comenzará a pedalear y cruzará arroyos flanqueados por preciosos huertos frutales. Hoy tendrá la oportunidad de observar y aprender las diferentes técnicas artesanas de la región, como la fabricación de papel, de dulces de coco o de arroz inflado. Cruzando en el ferry a través de diversos afluentes locales durante el día, tendrá la oportunidad de observar la riqueza del delta del Mekong y sus inmensas plantaciones de frutos exóticos; desde el durián hasta la nangea o el mangostán, cocos o pomelos. Posteriormente, zarpará en dirección a la isla de An Binh, donde pasará la noche. Si lo desea, podrá explorar los senderos de la isla en bici o caminar cuando llegue y se haya instalado.
Tendrá libre el resto de la tarde para relajarse o para ayudar a preparar la cena al propietario de la hospedería.

Comience el día montando a bordo de una embarcación local para llegar hasta el vehículo que le llevará a Vinh Long, una famosa ciudad frutal del Mekong. Desde aquí, comenzará su excursión en bici a través de los estrechos caminos y exuberantes huertos frutales de la región rural. La vida local, vibrante y asentada en los márgenes del río, le envolverá con su especial encanto mientras pedalea por el pintoresco paisaje que conforman los pueblos y los hogares del delta. Hará una parada para tomar el almuerzo antes de continuar a través de una plantación de cocoteros. Posteriormente, tomará un ferry para cruzar el principal afluente del Mekong y se dirigirá a Tra Vinh, una ciudad jemer en la que pasará la noche. Una vez haya llegado a Tra Vinh y se haya instalado, tendrá tiempo más que suficiente para explorar sus caminos y senderos si así lo desea.

Hoy saldrá directamente desde su hotel hasta el estanque de lotos de Ba Om, donde podrá detenerse y explorar el templo jemer, así como algunos pueblos asentados a lo largo del camino. Respire la tranquilidad que desprende el paisaje mientras cruza abundantes campos de arroz hasta llegar a Can Tho en bicicleta (o en bus/furgoneta si lo desea), donde pasará la noche.

Día XX: Can Tho – Long Xuyen

El día comenzará con un viaje en barco hasta el mercado de Cai Rang. Una vez allí, podrá montar en bici por el mercado que se asienta a lo largo del río o recorrerlo en vehículo. Posteriormente, seguirá su camino en bicicleta, cruzando otros tantos pueblos encantadores durante su travesía hasta el Santuario de Cigüeñas. Podrá inundarse de impresionantes imágenes conformadas por los pequeños negocios artesanales, los mercaderes de madera, las trituradoras de cocos, los pequeños puertos en los que se carga y descarga el arroz y mercados pequeños pero aun así llenos de vida. Dependiendo de cómo se encuentre, puede montar a bordo del vehículo de asistencia para llegar hasta un restaurante local o llegar a este directamente en bici.
Por la tarde, continúe pedaleando por la pintoresca región rural antes de montar a bordo del vehículo que le llevará de regreso a su hotel en Long Xuyen.

Día XX: Long Xuyen – Chau Doc  

Después de un corto trayecto hasta el punto de partida, comenzará el día montando en bici por los ajetreados canales fluviales y las fábricas tradicionales de ladrillos que se encuentran de camino a Chau Doc. Por el camino, se detendrá para explorar la Reserva Natural de Tra Su antes de llegar a Chau Doc e instalarse en su alojamiento de la noche.

Per iniziare partirete verso Cai Lay, dove inizierete a pedalare e attraverserete ruscelli fiancheggiati da bellissimi frutteti. Oggi, avrete la possibilità di osservare e apprendere le diverse abilità artistiche della regione, come la fabbricazione della carta, il confezionamento di caramelle al cocco e la produzione di riso sbucciato. Attraversando i canali con numerosi traghetti locali durante il giorno, avrete la possibilità di osservare la ricchezza del delta del Mekong e le sue tentacolari piantagioni di frutta esotica, dal durian e giaca al mangostano, noci di cocco e pomeli. Quindi, imbarcherete per una crociera in direzione dell’isola di An Binh, dove trascorrerete la notte. Se desiderate, partite ed esplorate i sentieri dell’isola pedalando o camminando dopo il vostro arrivo e ambientamento.

Per il resto del pomeriggio, sarete liberi di rilassarvi o di preparare la cena con il proprietario della pensione.

Giorno XX: Vinh Long – Tra Vinh

Iniziate la giornata salendo su una barca locale per raggiungere il vostro veicolo che vi porterà a Vinh Long, una famosa città di frutta sul Mekong. Da qui, iniziate a pedalare tra le stradine della campagna e i lussureggianti frutteti. La vita locale, vibrante e appollaiata proprio sulle rive del fiume, vi affascinerà sicuramente mentre pedalate tra le pittoresche case e villaggi del Delta. Fermatevi a pranzo, prima di continuare attraverso una piantagione di cocco. Quindi, prendete un traghetto per attraversare l’affluente principale del Mekong e dirigetevi a Tra Vinh, una città Khmer dove pernotterete. Quando arrivate e vi stabilite a Tra Vinh, avrete tutto il tempo per esplorare i suoi percorsi e sentieri, se lo desiderate.

Oggi partirete direttamente dal vostro hotel fino allo stagno di piante di loto di Ba Om, dove potrete fermarvi ed esplorare un tempio Khmer, così come alcuni villaggi che si estendono lungo il vostro cammino. Attraversando ricche risaie, respirate la tranquillità che questi paesaggi trasudano fino a raggiungere Can Tho in bicicletta (o in autobus / van se volete), dove trascorrerete la notte.

Giorno XX: Can Tho – Long Xuyen

La giornata inizierà con una gita in barca al mercato di Cai Rang. Una volta arrivati, potete pedalare o viaggiare sul veicolo intorno al mercato lungo il fiume. Quindi, partite per la giornata in bicicletta, attraversando diversi villaggi più affascinanti mentre vi recate al Santuario di Stork. Godrete di incredibili panorami apparentemente infiniti di imprese artigianali, commercianti di legname, trituratori di cocco, piccoli moli di carico / scarico di riso e mercati minuscoli, ma vivaci. A seconda di come vi sentite, potete portare il veicolo di riserva in un ristorante locale o continuare a pedalare direttamente verso il ristorante.

Nel pomeriggio, continuate a pedalare attraverso la pittoresca campagna, prima di riprendere il vostro veicolo fino al vostro hotel a Long Xuyen.

Giorno XX: Long Xuyen – Chau Doc

Dopo una breve gita al punto di partenza, iniziate la giornata pedalando lungo i canali fluviali trafficati e le tradizionali fabbriche di mattoni sulla strada per Chau Doc. Lungo la strada, sicuramente una sosta va fatta alla scoperta della Riserva Naturale di Tra Su, prima di arrivare a Chau Doc e sistemarvi negli alloggi per la notte.

Zuerst begeben Sie sich nach Cai Ly, wo Sie mit der Radtour beginnen und Bäche, gesäumt von schönen Obstgärten, überqueren. Sie starten den Tag, indem Sie an Bord eines Bootes gehen, um zum Fahrzeug zu gelangen, welches Sie nach Vinh Long, eine berühmte „Obst-Stadt“ am Mekong, zu bringt. Dort beginnen Sie mit der Radtour auf engen Landstraßen und durch üppige Obstgärten. Wenn Sie durch die malerischen Delta-Behausungen und -Dörfer radeln, wird Sie das vibrierende Leben direkt am Flussufer sicherlich verzaubern. Legen Sie für das Mittagessen einen Halt ein, bevor die Radtour weiter durch eine Kokosnuss-Plantage geht. Im Anschluss fahren Sie mit einer Fähre, um den Hauptarm des Mekong zu überqueren und nach TraVinh, eine Khmer-Stadt, in der Sie übernachten werden, zu gelangen. Sobald Sie dort angekommen sind, steht Ihnen, wenn Sie möchten, eine Menge Zeit zur Verfügung, um die Pfade und Wege in TraVinh zu erkunden.

Sie begeben sich vom Hotel aus direkt zum Ba-Om-Lotusteich, wo Sie einen Halt einlegen und einen Khmer-Tempel und einige Dörfer, die sich entlang Ihres Weges befinden, besichtigen können. Atmen Sie die Ruhe, die diese Landschaft ausstrahlt, ein, wenn Sie die reichen Reisfelder überqueren, bis Sie schließlich Can Tho mit dem Fahrrad (oder auf Wunsch mit dem Bus/Van) erreichen. In Can Tho werden Sie die Nacht verbringen.

Tag XX: Can Tho – Long Xuyen

Der Tag beginnt mit einer Bootstour zum Cai-Rang-Markt. Dort angekommen, können Sie mit dem Fahrrad oder einem Fahrzeug über den Markt entlang des Flusses fahren. Anschließend schwingen Sie sich aufs Fahrrad und durchfahren mehrere malerische Dörfer auf Ihrem Weg zum Storchen-Schutzgebiet. Sie werden unglaublich viele Häuser, Holzhändler, Kokosnuss-Häcksler, kleine Docks, die Reis laden und entladen, sowie winzige, aber belebte Märkte erblicken. Je nach Stimmung können Sie mit einem Fahrzeug zum Restaurant fahren oder aber Sie nehmen weiterhin das Fahrrad, um dorthin zu gelangen.
Am Nachmittag radeln Sie weiter durch die malerische Landschaft, bevor Sie mit dem Fahrzeug zurück zu Ihrem Hotel in Long Xuyen fahren.
