CAMBODIA – Luxury – 11 Days/ 10 Nights

Day 1: Siem Reap arrival
Upon your arrival in Siem Reap, you will be welcomed at the airport by your guide and then travel by air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel for check in. Then enjoy the rest of the day as free time to relax and settle into your hotel.

Day 2: Angkor Wat – Ta Prohm
Meet your guide in the morning to set off for the marvelous temple of Angkor Wat, a World Heritage site featuring the most extraordinary towers and bas-reliefs. This is one of the most astonishing monuments ever conceived by mankind, erected in the 12th century (1112-1152) in honor of Vishnu. From the temple, travel by private vehicle (or possibly on a cow cart) to a remote, untouched temple where your private picnic lunch will be set up and waiting for you.
After a delicious lunch, relax under the trees with a soothing foot massage before starting your afternoon activities. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the ancient Ta Prohm monastery where immense branches have taken root in the stones. Beyond the impressive vegetation you will find some splendid sculptured Devatas and an atmosphere that is unique and completely befitting this temple and those built during the reign of Jayavarman VII in general. You will then go back to your hotel for a free evening.

Day 3: Banteay Srei – East Mebon – Pre Rup – Angkor Thom
In the morning, leave for Banteay Srei where one of the most impressive jewels of Khmer art exists. Erected in the 10th century, this small pink sandstone temple is known as the Citadel of Women. You will then return to Angkor Park area and continue by visiting Mebon Oriental temple, which was built originally on the food growing island on the Roluos River. Following will be the 10th century Pre Rup temple, which was the state temple of King Rajendravarman. Make a short stop at Srah Srang, also referred to as ‘The Baths’.
In the afternoon, visit the Great City of Angkor Thom beginning at the south gate and the famous Bayon temple of the 12th and 13th centuries. Then, cross to the Elephant Terrace which, at 350 meters long, was used as a giant viewing stand for public ceremonies and served as a base for the King’s grand audience hall. After, move to the raised terrace of the Leper King, from the 12th century, which bears many beautifully sculptured Apsara statues.
Later in the afternoon, take a journey through the countryside to Chandara Villa, a beautiful place kept largely inaccessible to the mass tourist crowds and nestled in lovely gardens. Take a romantic walk and find a private spot for a pre-dinner cocktail before enjoying fine dining and extraordinary service. The evening will be made all the more special by the candlelight and the venue being surrounded by lush rice paddies.

Day 4: The Great Lake: Tonle Sap
In the morning, travel to the pier at Chong Khneas where you will board your boat for Tonle Sap Lake. You will have a chance to get to know the floating villages and their hospitable communities. Enjoy some snacks and champagne while cruising.
Return to your hotel in Siem Reap in the middle of the afternoon with the remainder of the day free at your leisure.

Day 5: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh
Spend the morning free to relax before heading to the airport for a brief flight to Phnom Penh. After being warmly welcomed by your local guide, you will travel to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon you will head out to discover the city with a “Khmer Architecture Tour” by cyclo. This tour facilitates your exploration of central Phnom Penh and includes some colonial buildings, as well as modern post-independence architecture, making it a unique ride through the “New Khmer Architecture”. After a short historical presentation by your tour guide, you will discover the district around the Post Office, then head for the Central Market area, and pass by some well-known buildings as well as some less obvious examples of religious architecture.
You will then return to your hotel for time to spend at your will.

Day 6: Phnom Penh
Take a city tour of Phnom Penh and visit the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom, comprising different structures grouped together in one enclosure. Here you will find the Silver Pagoda whose key works include a golden Buddha encrusted with 9,584 diamonds and weighing 90 kilos, and a Buddha featuring emeralds and Baccarat crystal dating from the 17th century. Afterwards travel to the south of the city to learn about the darkest period of Cambodia’s history: the regime of the Khmer Rouge. Here, you will visit the genocide museum of Tuol Sleng, an old secondary school which was transformed into a detention centre under the Khmer Rouge. You will experience Phnom Penh in a truly exceptional way. Witness places rarely visited by tourists and have the chance to immerse yourself in this city of contrasts, its culture, history and its colorful daily life.
During the afternoon excursion, you will visit places like the French Quarter, local restaurants, hidden temples and monuments, vibrant markets, architectural highlights and cultural institutes with private short movie screenings.

– Visits to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda will be conducted by their own on-site guide as our guides are not authorized to lead the tour.
– The Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda are sometimes closed without notice due to official ceremonies. If this happens, an alternative tour will be arranged.
– The market is closed on public holidays.


Day 7: Phnom Penh – Sihanoukville
Travel along some beautiful roads to Sihanoukville, a seaside resort 230 kilometers away from Phnom Penh through villages, markets and pineapple fields. On arrival at Sihanoukville, you will board a speed boat for a journey of about 30 minutes to the unique Song Saa Private Island. Then enjoy the balance of the day at your resort or on the beach.

Notes: The shuttle speed boat transfer from mainland to Song Saa island is a non-private one and has fixed departure times. Supplement for private cruise to be advised on request.

Day 8: Song Saa Private Island Resort
Simply relax and pamper yourself while staying at the seductive resort of Song Saa. You can also avail yourself of the resort’s included activities such as snorkeling, sea kayaking, sunrise yoga, a Buddhist ceremony or an in-villa movie experience.

Day 9: Song Saa Private Island Resort
For your second full day at the resort you might consider one of the more adventurous options available to you, such as an island safari, a marine safari, a rainforest encounter, a Sala Song Saa cultural experience or the opportunity to learn about the Song Saa Conservation and Community program.

Day 10: Song Saa Private Island Resort – Sihanoukville – Phnom Penh
After breakfast, spend your last moments of free time to enjoy the pure white sand beach of Song Saa. Then take a shared-speed boat back to Sihanoukville where our driver will already be waiting to take you by private vehicle back to Phnom Penh for your last night in Cambodia.

Day 11: Phnom Penh Departure
You will be free at your leisure until the time to travel to the airport for your departure flight.
