Hiking at Phnom Kulen

In the morning, around 07:00 travel from Siem Reap to Phnom Kulen, the largest forested area in the Siem Reap province. After only 5 kilometers of driving, you will already be in the heart of the Cambodian countryside, passing through charming villages, endless rice fields, and sugar palm trees.

Upon arriving at the National Park checkpoint, located at the foot of Kulen Mountain, you’ll stop you’ll meet the local ranger who will accompany you over the course of the day trek. After a short briefing, head out into the jungle, first coming upon The River of 1000 Lingas. Here, it’s hard not to marvel at the carvings located inside the river, dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva, not to mention the golden Reclining Buddha, situated at Preah Ang Thom. Then embark on a single trail plunging into the deep forest and indulge in the nature. Your hike ends at the Phnom Kulen Waterfall, and, if you’d like, refresh yourself with a nice swim. Lunch nearby the waterfall. Transfer back to Siem Reap in the afternoon.

Le matin, vers 7 heures, vous partez de Siem Reap pour Phnom Kulen, la plus grande zone forestière de la province de Siem Reap. Après seulement 5 kilomètres de route, vous serez déjà au cœur de la campagne cambodgienne, traversant des villages, des rizières à perte de vue et des palmiers à sucre.

En arrivant au point de contrôle du parc national, situé au pied de la montagne Kulen, vous serez accueillis par le garde forestier local qui avec notre guide, vous accompagnera tout au long de la journée de trek. Après un court briefing, vous vous enfoncez dans la jungle, en commençant par la rivière aux 1000 lingas. Ici, il est difficile de ne pas s’émerveiller devant les sculptures situées dans le lit de la rivière, dédiées au dieu hindou Shiva, sans oublier le Bouddha couché en or, situé à Preah Ang Thom. Vous emprunterez ensuite un sentier s’enfonçant dans la forêt. Votre randonnée se termine à la belle cascade de Kulen ou, si vous le souhaitez, vous pourrez vous rafraîchir et vous baigner. A continuación tomará un sendero que se adentra en el bosque. La excursión termina en la hermosa cascada de Kulen, donde podrá refrescarse y darse un chapuzón si lo desea. Escursione a Phnom Kulen

Al mattino, intorno alle 7, lascerete Siem Reap per Phnom Kulen, la più grande area boschiva della provincia di Siem Reap. Dopo soli 5 chilometri di strada, sarete già nel cuore della campagna cambogiana, attraversando villaggi, sterminate risaie e palme da zucchero.

Arrivati al checkpoint del parco nazionale ai piedi del monte Kulen, sarete accolti dal ranger locale che, insieme alla nostra guida, vi accompagnerà per tutta la giornata di trekking. Dopo un breve briefing, ci si addentra nella giungla, partendo dal Fiume dei 1000 Lingas. Qui è difficile non ammirare le sculture nel letto del fiume dedicate al dio indù Shiva, per non parlare del Buddha reclinato d’oro di Preah Ang Thom. Si imbocca poi un sentiero che si addentra nella foresta. L’escursione termina alla bellissima cascata di Kulen, dove potrete rinfrescarvi e fare un tuffo se lo desiderate. Pranzo vicino alla cascata, poi trasferimento in hotel.
