You will be rewarded with a panoramic view over the city of Luang Prabang and its surroundings, after climbing the 328 steps leading to the top of Mount Phousi.
The Wat Mai, built at the end of the XVIII century, is a very respected shrine topped by an amazing roof.
The Royal Palace, which nowadays houses the National Museum, has a huge collection of precious items which formerly belonged to the royal family, and a large array of statuettes discovered in the temples of the region. Here, you can lay eyes on the Phrabang Buddha, considered the most sacred artifact of Laos, which has given its name to the city.
The Wat Xieng Thong, the temple of the Royal City, is a complex of sacred shrines and temples, displaying some of the finest Lao traditional art, and without any doubt, the most beautiful site of Luang Prabang. Wat Visoun, the oldest temple in the city, stands apart from the others thanks to That Makmo, a stone stupa representing a Lotus flower.

Royal Palace opening hours: every morning 08:00 – 11:30 (stop selling tickets at 11:00), every afternoon 13:30 – 16:00 (stop selling tickets at 15:30, except on Thursdays stop at 15:00)
Better to propose Mount Phousi in the morning to avoid the crowd of tourists at sunset.
