Guests will embark on a cycling trip following the ancient, royal Cambodian roadways and explore centuries-old temple ruins while passing through authentic, rural villages.

This tour extends along a pleasant gravel road. It offers the possibility to discover the rural areas outside of Siem Reap, cross through local villages and rice paddies, and connect with local communities. It also allows guests to visit some of the ancient and lesser-known Angkorian temples, away from the crowds, while getting to know more about Cambodian culture and history.

It is designed and suitable for everyone with good fitness and experience cycling.

  • Start from ticket office – cycle along main road until reaching a cross road and start cycling on the gravel road
  • Visit Kravan, Batchun – then cycle the Royal Ways (Guide must explain about the importance of this Royal Way)
  • Arrive at Phnom Bok – option for packed lunch/lunch box at the top of Phnom Bok or at the local house near the lake (similar to Top Travel), or at Ta Nei Temple
  • Afterwards, continue towards Angkor – visit Tanei, Takeo, Ta Phrom, and end at Srah Srang
  • Organize a refreshment drink at Srah Srang
  • Return trip back

  • Guide must stop and allow the travelers try some local snacks along the way; important to allow travelers to experience local life and traditions of the country

Cycle along the Royal Ways of Angkor

In the early morning, you will travel from your hotel to the Angkor Wat ticket office and start your cycling journey from there. Ride along tiny trails and ancient royal pathways used during the majestic Khmer Empire through the wild forest and villages to discover some truly remote and rarely-seen Angkor temples. Then, you will have the chance to visit some 10th-century temples, as well as the impeccably-preserved Bat Chum Temple and Phnom Bok, situated on the top of a 200-meter hill, surrounded by dense forest.

After enjoying the stunning view from the hill, continue your cycling through local villages, rice paddies, and narrow jungle trails towards the center of the Angkor Archaeological Park. You will end your tour at one of the masterpieces of the site, the majestic Ta Prohm Temple, which is famous for the way the surrounding vegetation has blended into the ruins. From here, you will cycle to the royal Srah Srang water reservoir to enjoy the sunset and then return back to the hotel.

Tôt dans la matinée, vous quitterez votre hôtel pour vous rendre à la billetterie du parc d’Angkor Wat d’où vous commencerez votre excursion à vélo.
