Are you ready for the To He competition?

Arrive at a special coffee shop in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where you will be welcomed by a To He craftsman with some of his sample toys. After a brief introduction to the history of To He, enjoy the opportunity to make a toy of your own to take home. Follow one of the many traditional designs, such as the shapes of the Vietnamese zodiac, or something more modern like a Pokemon character. Or, be creative and make your own unique toy – the choice is yours!

Hanoi – To He Village – Ninh Binh

In the morning, you will head down south to the village of a To He artisan. You will be welcomed by his friendly family and his lovely To He products. After an introduction about his family and the To He art, it will be your turn to learn how to make a traditional Vietnamese toy. The first product will be guided closely by the artisan himself, but the second one will be entirely your own creation. You can freely choose the shape and follow one of the many traditional designs, such as the shapes of the Vietnamese zodiac, or something more modern like a Pokemon character (or create your own design)!

Finally, it’s time to say goodbye to the artisan’s family, and together with your own To He products, continue your way toward Ninh Binh.

Après une courte présentation de l’histoire de To He, vous pourrez vous aussi fabriquer un jouet à ramener chez vous. Vous pourrez choisir un des nombreux modèles traditionnels comme les signes du zodiaque vietnamien ou quelque chose de plus moderne comme un Pokémon. Mais vous pourrez également laisser s’exprimer votre créativité en fabriquant un jouet unique donc à vous de jouer!

Dans la matinée, vous prendrez la direction d’un village au Sud d’Hanoi renommée pour ses quelques artisans de « To He », un jouet traditionnel du Vietnam. Vous serez accueilli par une famille qui fabrique des To He depuis plusieurs générations. Vous commencerez ensuite à fabriquer vos propres jouets sous la supervision d’un artisan, vous pourrez suivre ses conseils afin de créer des jouets simples (comme des animaux) ou essayer quelque chose de plus moderne comme des Pokemon.

Après avoir quitté la maison de l’artisan avec vos créations, vous continuerez en direction de la région de Ninh Binh.
