This morning, take your private boat to the village of Ma Gyi Gone – located at the south-east of Inle Lake – where you disembark to begin your excursion around the lake. The first leg of the trail takes you on a dirt path to Moe Kaung Village. Beautiful scenery and an uncharted village provide the backdrop for the first two hours. In Moe Kaung, a Pa-Oh Tribe village, villagers usually grow various vegetables and cheroot leaves to produce the famous Myanmar cigars. You’ll see lots of farmers busy in the fields and observe their daily lives. After a couple of hours’ walk, it’s time to rest at a local house where you can enjoy a simple lunch. Well-rested, it’s time to resume your walk to another Pa-Oh village, Mann Aung, which you’ll reach after a one-and-a-half-hour walk. On the way, you’ll encounter many other Pa-Oh tribes such as Tat Gyi, Ban Byin and Kon Lon, and learn all about their customs. Once in Mann Aung, it’s time to relax and meet the villagers. You’ve almost reached your arrival point! An extra 30-minute walk brings you to Nampan, the biggest village of Inle where your private boat is waiting for your return to your hotel.
