Description

The tour starts with an overland transfer along the scenic road reaching Pakmeng in Trang Province, where traditional longtail boats are ready for an island-hopping day in the Andaman Sea.

From here, a longtail boat will depart, beginning a journey first to Koh Ngai, a tiny islet of 5km2 without cars fringed by a long stretch of sand and turquoise waters filled with colourful fish.

After relaxing, swimming or sunbathing, the trip continues to the next stop: Koh Mook and its Emerald Cave, which can only be reached by swimming or kayaking at low tide. Koh Mook is also the best location to enjoy lunch with a view before continuing the cruise to the beautiful Koh Kradan and its paradise-like atmosphere.

From here, the choice is to either stay on Koh Kradan or return to Krabi. For the latter, the sightseeing option ends in Pakmeng, where a private vehicle will drive guests back to Krabi at the end of the afternoon.

Selling points

  • An original island hopping experience for high-end couples, families or small group of friends that could also be used a sea transfer

How to sell it

  • This tour can either be proposed as a regular island sightseeing tour offering the beautiful Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, and Koh Kradan for a daytrip
  • OR be used as nice full day transfer combining sightseeing and allowing guests to be dropped off on Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Kradan depending their choice
  • Private only – no join-in option
  • In case of sightseeing tour, the tour ends in Pakmeng pier (Trang Province) not in Krabi, as it is too far to come back
  • Even if usually following the order Pakmeng – Koh Ngai – Koh Mook (Lunch) – Kradan, the route can be adjusted if guests need to be dropped off in one of the three island for overnight. But we recommend to always keep Koh Mook for the lunch. If another restaurant is chosen (example Koh Kradan and Seven Seas Resort), supplement will apply
  • Good to propose for group of friends, families or romantic occasions for couples and high-end families
  • Not for people who don’t like sailing and longtail boat noise
  • Not for people who don’t like swimming and sunbathing
  • An opportunity to discover three beautiful islands usually less accessible for the masses, that are still authentic and preserved
  • This experience should ideally start around : 07:30 from the hotel (depending location) in order not to arrive at 09:00 in Pakmeng
  • An alternative and unique island-hopping experience to propose something much less touristy than Koh Phi Phi or Koh Hong
  • Not really suitable for children less than 6 years old. Sun can be hot on the boat and rough seas

Why this activity

  • To be able to propose an island and sea signature experience from another perspective than the usual touristy Koh Phi Phi and Koh Hong tours
  • To raise awareness about the beautiful often ignored islands of Trang Province

Do not combine with

  • Any other sea activity the same day
  • Another island tour in the same program that could be redundant. Or if guests are still interested to do several islands hopping tours during their holidays: always propose Koh Phi Phi and Koh Hong first. Better propose more touristic places before less touristic ones to avoid disappointment
  • Any other island-hopping tour
  • An evening activity in Krabi: guests might arrive late from the tour to begin any other activity

Competitor comparison

  • All competitors could be able to propose Koh Mook especially with the Emerald Lake, but it is not easy to sell. This opportunity to turn this long day into a possible sightseeing transfer makes it easier and maybe stronger compared the competitors

Pros

  • Island hopping, an easy, sellable concept
  • Easy to book
  • Operates daily
  • A speedboat transportation more comfortable and less hot than longtail boat experience
  • The experience of Krabi Spesialisten on upper-end segment
  • The privatization offer more flexibility to personalization
  • Shifted timing vs tourists groups: to avoid the big crowd with a shifted timing vs tourists groups. When guests finish their lunch, tourists group are usually approaching the end of their Hong Island Tour

Cons

  • Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Kradan, are barely accessible in the rainy season as the sea is too rough: remember disembarkment is often made on the beach. Therefore, it is not possible to propose this activity after mid-April
  • Weather dependent activity
  • Could be expensive
  • Longtail boat transpiration could be noisy
  • Not so many options in Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, or Kradan to push the sightseeing transfer version

Information

  • Children aged 4-11 pay THB 1.600. Under 4 years is FOC.

Alerts

  • Any allergies, food restrictions or requirements should be mentioned upon booking
  • This tour doesn’t operate after April until October
  • Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Kradan don’t have a proper disembarkation jetty – sometimes guests will have to disembark barefoot directly on the beach

Price range

12800 THB / pax (1 pax basis - 7200 / pax (2 pax basis)
