How to sell it

  • As a cultural touch to a beach stay in Phuket
  • Great for repeaters or people who are deeply interested in the culture and history of the destination
  • As a comfortable “off the beaten track” touch to a beach stay in Phuket

Why this activity

  • To have cultural experiences in Phuket
  • To expand the activity offers in Phuket with lesser-known activities / immersive activities
  • To be able to show all different aspects of Phuket as a beach destination

Good to combine with

Due to the pickup and return times it is difficult to combine it with other activities. It is best sold as a standalone activity on a day.

Do not combine with

  • Other half-day or full-day activities on the same day.
  • Peranakan Food Tour in Phuket: the tour focuses also on Phuket Town and it may be too repetitive

Phuket From a Different Perspective

In the late morning your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a trip to show you many different faces of Phuket that most visitors don’t know exist. The day begins with a visit to an interesting local temple where you will learn about a famous traveling monk who spent much of his life on the island. You will continue to Phuket Town where you can enjoy Sino-Portuguese heritage as you stroll along the charming streets.

After a lunch in a local restaurant – where you get to taste some regional specialties – you will head to a small island off Phuket called Sirey Island. At a local temple on this island you can admire a beautiful reclining Buddha with a panoramic backdrop of the Andaman Sea.

Before returning to the hotel you will have the chance to visit a local settlement of sea nomads. Even though they now live on the mainland, their lifestyle is still quite different from that of most people in Phuket, and learning about their life and culture can be a very interesting experience.
