Tran Thanh Duc, a local man who at age 15, during the war, fled Vietnam and spent time in a refugee camp in Malaysia, eventually found himself in Texas where he developed his passion for food. He then continued to cook his way around the world, from Mexico to Europe and New Zealand before making his way back to his hometown of Hoi An where, in 2003, he opened his first restaurant. He now owns a chain of well-loved restaurants and continues to pursue his passion for food.
