LAOS – Hinboun – Boat cruise on the Nam Hinboun River

Description

There is no better way to discover the stunning landscapes of Khammouane Province than on a boat trip through the meanders of the peaceful Nam Hinboun River. On this journey an array of dramatic vistas that always seem to surpass each other in beauty can be seen! The trip begins at Sala Hinboun at the foot of a splendid limestone mountain. The mode of transport is a motorised wooden pirogue which will be found floating in pristine waters surrounded by lush vegetation. Every curve will reveal another astonishing and impressive sharpened karst formation. It is also a chance to witness the life on the river and its banks, from the kids playing in the water near the fishermen, to the farmers growing vegetables and the herds of placid water buffalo that gaze lazily at everything that passes them by. The trip ends after 1 hour of navigation when the boat arrives at Spring River Resort.

• This journey is sometimes restricted by low water levels during the dry season.
• The boat has no roof so the experience could be negative if there is rainy weather.
• The motor of the boat makes some noise.

• Seasonality: From July to February. Depending on year, the water level can be very low from March to June and sometimes the boat cannot operate during this period.
• Target: FIT and GIT customers all markets.
• Alert: 3 pax maximum per boat (or 2 pax + guide).
