Rayavadee’s setting on the edge of Krabi’s National Marine Park at the heart of the stunning Phranang Peninsula perfectly blends lush foliage, limestone cliffs, white sand beaches, and the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea. Rayavadee’s jungle-style pavilions are dotted among Krabi Marine National Park’s natural fauna and flora. You’ll feel thoroughly spoilt with three beaches, various activities, and a sumptuous spa. Wake up to the sound of monkeys and fall asleep to the sound of a thousand chirruping crickets.

The assortment of mushroom-domed villas and pavilions are set amid lush jungle. Coconut trees tangle overhead while huge taro plants (known as elephant leaves due to their shape) line the pathways that navigate over ponds, teaming with tropical fish. The hotel is known as eco-friendly and makes all its toiletries from an organic Thai brand. Interiors consist of antique wooden furnishings that exemplify a colonial-style vibe.

Rayavadee’s 96 two-story pavilions and five luxury villas are spread across the resort using the various beaches. Some pavilions have private pools or hot tubs (villas have both), and all rooms are fitted with a bath and shower. Once suspended from the living room ceilings, wooden swings have been replaced with comfy mustard-colored daybeds, which double up as a bed for a third person. Antique-style oak furniture is set against terracotta and white wash walls.

The living rooms are bright, with classy coffee tables and polished TV stations that host flat screens while neatly hiding the tea and coffee-making facilities. Upstairs are ornate writing desks and dark brown Venetian blinds. The bathtubs are huge buckets you can fully submerge in, and the king-sized beds are so squishy you will struggle to get out.

Railay Terrace Restaurant blends Asian and Western cuisine. The Rayavadee breakfast takes place next to the hotel lobby and has both indoor and outdoor seating, which is very comfortable. The breakfast has many options, including its massive a la carte menu and sprawling buffet. The two-page a la carte menu has both International and Asian favorites

Included are personal butlers, buggies on call, a beautiful spa with massage therapists who know how to knead out even the toughest knots, and a turn-down service that constantly replenishes freshly baked cashews and chocolate cookies. For an additional cost, organized excursions to nearby islands can be arranged. There are squash courts and tennis courts, and kayaks and snorkels are available free of charge from the watersports center in Phranang.
