The resort is just 10 minute walk along the beach to the Fisherman’s Village, which offers a wide range of fine dining and upscale drinking options. A taxi to the nightlife of Chaweng takes 20 minutes. It takes about 25 minutes to reach the airport by car.

The Bo Phut Resort has a very unpretentious holiday feel. The rooms and villas, located in a gorgeous tropical garden, are spacious and comfortable, and while there’s stuff to do for guests, nothing is pushed, and everything is meant to be discovered. The modern amenities are combined with contemporary Thais style touches from wall decorations to dark woods, both inside and out. The rooms are large, spotless, graceful, and a little dark. The garden villas, surrounded by high walls and complemented by cute patios with plunge pools, feel very private, perhaps a little cramped, and feature comfortable four-poster beds with mosquito nets and stylish dark wood furniture with beige tones of the fabrics and walls.

Guests enjoy the usual amenities, including air-conditioning, televisions, a real coffee-making machine, a large daily fruit basket, and a safe and reasonably priced minibar. The bathrooms are airy and in top condition, with tubs and separate rain showers. Some rooms have a whirlpool bath.

The young staff goes out of their way to make guests comfortable. The free-form pool, just off the beach, is large enough for a swim and is adjoined by a small children’s pool. On the beach, complimentary activities include windsurfing and kayaking.

There’s a gym away from the sand, and guests can indulge in various sports activities, including fitness classes such as stretching, abdominal exercises, aqua aerobics in the pool, yoga, and Muay Thai demonstrations – a basic introduction to Thailand’s national sport. The spa exudes tranquillity and has just four treatment rooms, two for couples, complete with a whirlpool bath and steam room.

The restaurant combines the best of classical Thai architecture in a romantic setting enhanced with live entertainment of “Khim”, a traditional Thai music instrument, whilst overlooking a splendid lotus pond.

Pros

• Value for money.
• Good location, close to the beach, close to the street, and 10 minutes walk to Fisherman’s Village.
• It was always retouching and reasonable maintenance of the room and public area.
• A resort is unsuitable for party groups that will not disturb our in-house guests.
•  Complete guest services, well-train staff, and good product knowledge.

Cons

• The number of interconnecting room has limited and not suitable for a big family.
• No kids club.
• No smart TV.
