This 3-day, 2-night itinerary is suitable for both leisure and active travelers. The program will provide travelers with real insight into the life of the local minority ethnic groups and allow them to explore the fantastic surroundings by hiking along the remote hill village roads.

Day 1: Arrival Hoa Binh, Chien village

You will arrive at Chien village, a remote community retaining many cultural and traditional values. After lunch at a local homestay, walk around the town, admire the surroundings, and see many fascinating old stilt houses.

Then you will discover the Nam Son cave, considered a national relic; it’s tiny and narrow entrance will reveal a surprisingly vast lake inside.

Day 2: Chien village

Early in the morning, you will start hiking from the village, possibly choosing between an 11-kilometer or an 18-kilometer trail for more active travelers. Along the hiking route, you can witness vast fields, wild mountains and feel the peace emanating from the green forests before enjoying a refreshing picnic lunch on a hill. Arriving at the Xom village, home to a remote hill tribe, you will visit their traditional houses and learn more about their culture and the beauty of the rustic life of the local people.

After dinner, you will enjoy a performance comprising traditional folk songs, games, and ethnic costumes.

Day 3: Chien village – Departure

In the morning, you will enjoy the final chance to explore the village by experiencing the lively atmosphere of the local market filled with unique products and specialties, colorful handicrafts, and, most noticeably, witness the preservation of cultural identity through the language spoken and the clothes worn by the locals when going to the market.

After the market, immerse yourself in the traditional country life by helping your local guides to prepare lunch. Learning about their long-practiced cooking methods, you’ll taste the results of their recipes which will surely bring you a memorable culinary moment.

After lunch, you will meet your driver and head to your next destination.
