Itinerary

Discover the beauty of Cambodia – 9 Days & 8 Nights

You will be welcomed by your local guide at Phnom Penh Airport and travel to your hotel and will have some time to relax after your flight. In the late afternoon, experience a romantic sunset cruise with time to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Mekong River.

You will take a city tour of Phnom Penh and visit the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom. Afterwards travel to the south of the city to learn about the darkest period of Cambodia’s historythe regime of the Khmer Rouge. Here, you will visit the genocide museum of Tuol Sleng.In the afternoon you will experience Phnom Penh in a truly exceptional way and have the chance to delve into this city of contrasts, its culture, history and its colorful daily life.

In the evening, enjoy a performance of traditional arts.

Today, your destination will be Kompong Thom, recently nominated as UNESCO World Heritage site.On the road, you will stop at Skun, famous for its grilled spiders’ brochettes. A few kilometers onwardsof Kampong Thom,discover the splendid remains of the Sambor Prei Kuk temple, the old capital at the time of Chenla, before coming back for the night to Kampong Thom.

Before reaching Siem Reap you will stop at Kompong Kdei where an Angkor bridge is still standing. Arrive in Siem Reap, the city of temples and visit the Angkor National Museum, which focuses on the magnificent National Heritage that Angkor temples represent.

You will discover Angkor Wat, a World Heritage site with soaring towers and extraordinary bas reliefs, then Banteay Sreiwhere a most impressive jewel of Khmer art exists. Erected in the 10th century, this small pink sandstone temple is known as the Citadel of Women.Later in the afternoon, you will visit Theam’s House, which is the studio of a talented artist; including a workshop and a gallery in which the artist’s collections are displayed.

You will start your day by making your own traditional breakfast, by discovering and helping in the different stage to make rice noodles. You will continue to another village specializing in bamboo sticky rice production and harvesting coconut fruits. The next and last stop will lead you to a house where a family creates palm leaf handicrafts as a source of income. In the afternoon you will visit Angkor Thom (the Great City), the famous Bayon composed of 54 gigantic towers featuring 216 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara, the Elephant Terrace and the mysterious Ta Prohm.

Set off for a full day excursion to the river of the ThousandLingas, locally known as “Kbal Spean” –the head of the bridge. In the afternoon, drive to the temple of Bang Mealea in the jungle. The temple was built during the reign of Suryavarman II, in the middle of the 12th century and the atmosphere will give you the impression of being the first explorer to discover the temple. After exploring, return to Siem Reap.In the evening, you will attend a circus show called “Phare, The Cambodian Circus” organized by an NGO.

Today you will leave for Kompong Khleang, located in the Tonle Sap Lake, to enjoyan exceptional natural environment with breathtaking vistas of floodplains, rice fields and water views as far as the eye can see. You will have a unique opportunity to stop off at one of the most beautiful houses of the village for lunch time and enjoy a nice picnic there among the exceptional scenery and atmosphere. Then you will visit a lotus farm where you will discover all the stages from the spinning to the weaving. End of the day at leisure.

After checking out, you will meet your driver and travel to Siem Reap airport for your outbound flight.
