Discover the beauty of Laos – 10 Days & 9 Nights

Welcome to Laos! On arrival at Luang Prabangyou will be met by your tour guide and will be invited to attend a Baci(Sou Khouan) ceremony, one of the most popular traditions in Laos to welcome guests.

In the early morning, you will travel with your guide to Vat Nong temple to see the Tak Bath ceremony (procession of monks). Then you will meet with a UNESCO expert to go into the most emblematic and culturally-rich sites around Luang Prabang.

Start your day with the magical setting and exquisite breakfast at Kuang Sy then visit Kuang Sy waterfalls.You will board a boat and travel across the Mekong river to Ban Chan, a village famous for the creation of Lao pottery and have lunch here. You will bask in this unique environment as you contemplate the grandeur of this mighty river and its unspoiled natural surroundings. At the end of the afternoon, you will have chance to meet with an English-speaking monk in a serene and peaceful temple housing priceless religious artifacts.

Set sail from Luang Prabangon a northward bound journey along the murky waters of the mighty Mekong. After enjoying the cool river breeze for a few hours, you will arrive at the famous Pak Ou Caves. Then visit the handicraft village Ban Xang Khong well known as “paper village”.

Today, you will have the privilege to enter the Buddhist archives in the company of Dr Khamvone Boulyaphonh. Then you will visit a small museum located in a villa, a perfect architectural model of the traditional houses and you will meet a well-known artist leaving in Laos. At the end of the day, you will have opportunity to enter into the world of Lao people in a heritage house and learn about their daily way of life and customs and also discover their various religious ceremonies.

After taking a morning flight to Vientiane, you will have a haft day to visit the city of Vientiane. Then, you will have opportunity to visit the workshop of a renowned designer to learn about the different steps of her creative process, from conception until finished product. The final destination for your day is a visit to a lotus painting workshop.

After a morning flight to Pakse, you will meet your driver and travel by car to your hotel. You will have a haft day sightseeing around Pakse, visit Vat Luang, the main temple of the district, before continuing to Ban Don Khor, a village reputed for its sand stone carvings that have been maintained in their traditional style of craftsmanship for several decades. Then transfer to Bolaven.

After a short drive toward Paksong, you’ll take a stop to gain insight into the blacksmith workshops situated along the road and which specialize in knife-crafting. After lunch, you’ll set off on a short walk in the highlands. To end your journey of discovery, you’ll be welcomed by the villagers of Ban Phaleng Neua before returning to Champasak.

Champasak is well-known with the Vat Phou – a pre-Angkorian temple complex listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. After the visit of the Vat Pou you will discover the countryside around Champasak, with a walk starting at Vat Muang Kang. During the walk, you will pass through traditional villages where the local people make sticky rice boxes, handicrafts and food specialties and you will enjoy picturesque sceneries on the mighty Mekong before arriving at Vat Phanon.

Free time before transfer to airport for your flight out.
