After your arrival in Pakse you will begin your fantastic journey in the most authentically simple land in Southeast Asia. You will travel to Champasak and after check-in at your hotel enjoy time at leisure to relax or to experience a massage at the hotel.

Start your day with a walk to Vat Muang Kang, the oldest active temple in Champasak. Located along the Mekong River, the site offers beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. Then your walk will pass through traditional villages where the local people make sticky rice boxes, handicrafts and food specialties. You will have lunch in the gardens of a beautiful temple on the bank of the Mekong River.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a 2 hour- cycling tour to experience the beauty of the Lao countryside and you will end 1 kilometer from the entrance to the Vat Phou complex, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

After travelling to the south of Don Khong island you will have today many opportunities to meet local families, discover the traditional handicrafts villages and travel by boat to reach the islands and the impressive waterfalls.

Time at leisure and enjoy some last looks at the scenery of Southern Laos’ countryside before heading to Pakse airport for your flight to Luang Prabang in the end of afternoon.
After your arrival in Luang Prabang you will be transferred to your hotel.

In the early morning you will be transferred to the Vat Nong temple to see the Tak Bat ceremony (procession of monks). During the ceremony, devoted residents of Luang Prabang kneel on the sidewalk, bearing food in their hands, which they offer to the monks as they walk by in a procession of orange robes. After this humbling experience, your guide will take you to an animated local market, before guiding you to a welcoming local restaurant at the Mekong river bank for a soup or coffee.
Then you will enjoy a cycling tour in Luang Prabang and the surroundings and discover the daily life of local people, find ancient buildings, the Royal Palace, monasteries and temples. To continue your journey outside the city, cross the Nam Khan River and ride along the Mekong River at your own pace to reach Ban Xieng Lek and Ban Xang Khong. There you will discover traditional weaving practices and the procedures used to make the local Sa paper. After the cycling tour you will return to the center of Luang Prabang.

Distance and duration of the cycling tour : 6 kilometers – 3 hours with stops

You will start your day with a transfer to Kuang Sy where you will enjoy a breakfast into a magical place set amongst the lush green trees of the tropical jungle and beside the burbling waters of the Kuang Sy River. Continuing your journey, you will embark on a vessel to cruise upstream on the Mekong River. Further upstream, you will arrive at Pha Tad Ke Botanical Gardens and have the opportunity to learn about the plants of Laos and the importance of biodiversity conservation.
Finish your excursion with a nice lunch set up in the lush vegetation.
After lunch, step aboard your boat again to travel to the Pak Ou caves, the most famous Buddhist site around Luang Prabang. During the cruise, you can relax and rejuvenate while laying down on the massage tables to get a foot reflexology treatment.
Cruising back to Luang Prabang, you will enjoy a sunset cocktail on the boat, admiring the sun shedding its last ray of lights on the river.

This morning at 07:00 you will hit the reset button with an enjoyable yoga session. Following the early-morning yoga session, and after a chance to freshen up, enjoy a delicious breakfast in a stunning location. Enjoy your free time to discover the city by your own.
In the end of afternoon you will be invited to attend a baci ceremony, one of the most popular traditions in Laos and which accompanies any important life event: weddings, funerals, births, illnesses, trips, etc. During the ceremony, the officiating person will recall your souls (according to Lao belief, each human being has 32 souls) to attract beneficial influences towards you, and will then tie a cotton string around your wrist symbolizing the wishes he will have formulated in your favor.
