MYANMAR & LAOS – Plain Of Jars in Laos and Bagan in Myanmar made the UNESCO World Heritage Sites List

The results are in! We’re thrilled to announce that two incredible locations in two of our destinations have made the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list at the 43rd Session of the World Heritage Committee held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on July 5, 2019.
Myanmar’s awe-inspiring ancient capital, Bagan, home to thousands of temples and stupas, has finally been chosen, nearly a quarter of a century after it was first nominated.

The fascinating Plain of Jars in the northern province Xieng Khouang of Laos, with over 2,100 tubular-shaped megalithic stone jars, has also been added to the list after a long 20-year wait.
