At Easia Travel, Myanmar has long been more than a destination. It is a place deeply rooted in our company’s story, home to former team members, trusted partners, and unforgettable travel experiences. Though we have not yet resumed operations in the country, we remain actively connected and committed to Myanmar in meaningful ways.
Our Position in 2025
While we are aware that some operators have resumed activities, Easia Travel has chosen to continue refraining from sending travelers to Myanmar at this time.
This decision follows a careful and ongoing assessment of the current situation on the ground, as well as consideration of international travel advisories. Most Western governments continue to advise against travel to Myanmar. We believe the overall conditions remain too unpredictable to confidently ensure the safe and peaceful travel experiences.
This cautious approach reflects not only our values as a responsible travel company but also our long-term commitment to doing what is right for both our partners and your travelers.

Still Supporting Myanmar, Behind the Scenes
Though our travel operations remain paused, our engagement with Myanmar has never stopped. In fact, it has only evolved.
Since 2023, many of our former Myanmar colleagues have rejoined Easia Travel in new capacities, some working remotely from Myanmar, others now based full-time in our offices across Southeast Asia. These individuals remain an integral part of our team and continue to contribute their knowledge and passion across multiple destinations.
By the end of 2024, we took a meaningful step forward by opening a small office in Yangon. It is now home to more than 20 team members, most of them valued former colleagues. This initiative allows us to maintain strong connections on the ground while continuing to support professional growth and stability for our Myanmar team.
Community Support and Earthquake Relief
Our commitment to Myanmar extends beyond our team. It’s about the people and places that have long been part of Easia’s journey. In March 2025, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central and eastern Myanmar, affecting communities across Mandalay, Sagaing, and the Inle Lake region. These culturally rich areas saw severe damage, including collapsed temples and widespread disruption.
We were heartbroken by the news and responded quickly. Easia Travel launched an internal fund to support recovery efforts in the hardest-hit areas. Through trusted local partners in the tourism network, we provided direct and practical support. One example is the delivery of water pump engines to two impacted nunneries, “Sein Mya Yaung Chi and Su Pan Yadanar,” helping restore access to water. The donations were coordinated with former Easia team members and local networks to ensure help reached those who needed it most.
This is just one of many initiatives that reflect our lasting commitment to Myanmar’s communities. Whether responding to natural disasters, restoring infrastructure, or preserving cultural sites, we remain focused on local action, timely response, and meaningful support.
Looking Forward with Hope
We look forward to the day when we can once again welcome travelers to the peaceful temples of Bagan and the warm hospitality of Inle Lake. However, we will only do so when we can ensure responsible, respectful, and high-quality experiences for both our guests and the people of Myanmar. Until then, our commitment remains strong in our memories, through the stories of our former team, and in our ongoing support efforts.
