Description

Mulberry Lao Silkworm Handicrafts works to improve the livelihood of the local people, preserving silk weaving as an important part of Laos’ environmental, cultural and artistic heritage, and safeguarding it for the future. On this mulberry farm all 26 steps of silk production, from silkworm to the actual handicrafts, are on display. There is also a chance to walk around the area and look over the shoulder of the various producers involved in the process, then to even watch the silkworm breeding process, the natural dying processes, as well as actual weaving.
