A 2 days/1 night cycling tour through the beautiful, mountainous region of raw and isolated Southern Laos. This adventure on the Bolaven Plateau starts on the first day with an off-road ride passing through some remote villages and settlements to the Tad Lo Waterfall Park. The second day is a long, exciting and rewarding downhill swoop back into Pakse, in the middle of stunning waterfalls and coffee plantations. The cool air of the high altitude Bolaven Plateau makes the effort more enjoyable.

Day 1: Pakse / Paksong/Boloven Plateau
The travelers will get out their adventurous spirit for this trip through a beautiful, mountainous region of raw and isolated Southern Laos. They will jump in the car that will lead you from Pakse to Paksong (50 kilometres, 1 hour) and get ready for the off-road adventure ahead.  Starting in the market area at Paksong, about 1205 m above sea level, they will ride on the bumpy dirt road, passing some small villages and settlements that appear to be in the middle of nowhere. This is raw Laos! This stony track is both rugged and beautiful, and mostly goes down to finally reach Ban Lao Ngam, where they will stop for a rest in one of the small roadside restaurants. The last portion of the trip is much easier and on the paved main road leading to the Tad Lo Waterfall Park, the ideal spot to relax and refresh.

Day 2: Boloven /Pakse or Champassak
Today, the guests will enjoy the cool air of the high altitude Bolaven Plateau, followed by a long, exciting downhill swoop back into Pakse. Leaving the Sinouk Resort in the morning at an elevation of 1000m, they will start riding slightly uphill towards Paksong, passing some small villages along the way. After 23.5km, they will reach the peak height; from there it’s the start of a smooth descent down to Paksong. They will take a break to enjoy the lunch at Tad Yeuang waterfall, one of the most impressive of the area. They will continue on the rewarding descent and stop to admire the panorama at Tad Fan waterfall, the highest is Laos. On your way downhill to the city, they will indulge themselves with a coffee break in the middle of the plantations, passing other fruit stands, small shops, and observe the blacksmith at work on roadside working on bush knives. In the last 8 kilometers, they will enter the busy, broad and dusty main road 13 back to Pakse town.

Special information

  • Always remember to provide the first aid kit to the guide.
  • Explain clearly to the guides the client’s profile and the guests’ expectations.
  • Need to reconfirm with bike shop one or 2 days before the tour and check the equipment before the tour.
  • Should prepare and check the bikes with the name (or number) of the travelers in advance in order not to lose time.
  • Should prepare and check that the cold water and some snacks are ready before the tour.
  • Should check that the van is clean and ready for the travelers.
  • Guide must do the briefing before starting cycling – he needs to announce:
    • Cycling rules and sign to follow during the ride.
    • Oblige the travelers to wear the helmet – it is mandatory.

  • Cycling guide must be flexible on the spot: adapt the speed and the length of the trails to the needs of the clients
  • Detailed timing: Departure- early morning from hotel, in order to have enough time to reach the final destination.
  • During the tour, call the restaurant or the person in charge of the picnic set up at least 1 hour before to confirm the arrival time – it’s important to have a good and warm meal during lunch or dinner.
  • Should have lunch together with the Active clients, if requested.
  • Guide must stop and make the travelers try some local snacks along the way; important to make travelers experience local life and traditions of the country.
  • Should check the climate conditions before the tour to avoid risks (for example, bring rain coats) and be careful during the tour not to put the lives of the clients in danger. At the end of the day, he needs to check all the bikes and help the mechanic to clean and fix them.
  • Languages – use polite language and adapt the behavior depending on the guests’ character and behavior.

Vous quitterez dans la matinée le Sinouk Resort qui se trouve à 1000 mètres d’altitude puis commencerez par dépasser plusieurs petits villages dispersés le long d’une légère côte vers Paksong. Après 23,5 kilomètres, vous atteindrez le point le plus élevé et commencerez alors votre descente. Vous vous arrêterez pour déjeuner à la cascade Tad Yeuang, une des plus impressionnantes de la région. Vous poursuivrez ensuite votre descente sensationnelle et ferez une pause pour admirer le panorama à la cascade Tad Fan, la plus haute du Laos. Pendant votre descente vers la ville vous pourrez récompenser vos efforts avec une pause café au milieu des plantations, et n’oubliez pas d’observer les étals remplis de fruits, les petites boutiques et les forgerons à l’œuvre sur leurs machettes le long de la route. Pour les 8 derniers kilomètres jusqu’à Paksé, vous suivrez la route 13, plus large et plus fréquentée.

Abandonará el Sinouk Resort por la mañana, a una altitud de 1000 m, comenzará a pedalear por una pendiente ligeramente empinada hacia Paksong, pasando por algunos pueblos pequeños en el camino. Después de 23,5 km, llegará al punto más alto; desde aquí comienza un tranquilo descenso hacia Paksong. Tómese un descanso para disfrutar de su almuerzo en la cascada de Tad Yeuang, una de las más impresionantes de la zona. Continuará con el descenso y se detendrá a admirar las vistas en la cascada de Tad Fan, la más alta de Laos. Radtour: 2 Tage / 1 Nacht – Abenteuer auf dem Plateau

Tag 1:
Für diesen Ausflug durch die schöne, bergige Region des unberührten und isolierten Südens von Laos benötigen Sie eine gewisse Portion Abenteuergeist. Setzen Sie sich zunächst ins Auto und lassen Sie sich von Pakse nach Paksong (50 Kilometer, 1 Stunde) bringen, wo Sie sich bereit für Ihr Off-Road-Abenteuer machen. Sie starten im Marktgebiet von Paksong, das sich etwa 1.205 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel befindet. Sie werden erst einmal auf einer holprigen, unbefestigten Straße fahren und an einigen kleinen Gemeinden und Siedlungen, die mitten im Nirgendwo auftauchen, vorbeikommen. Dies ist das authentische Laos! Die steinige Strecke ist sowohl robust als auch schön und führt bergabwärts, bevor Sie schließlich Ban Lao Ngam erreichen. Dort legen Sie eine Erholungspause in einem der kleinen Straßenrestaurants ein. Der letzte Teil der Tour ist sehr viel einfacher, denn Sie werden auf einer gepflasterten Hauptstraße fahren, die Sie zum Tad-Lo-Wasserfallpark führt – ein idealer Ort, um sich zu entspannen und zu erfrischen.

Am Ende des Tages wird Sie ein Auto zu Ihrem Hotel fahren, in dem Sie sich ausruhen können. (Anfahrt: Pakse – Sinouk Coffee Resort: 80 Kilometer – 1 Stunde und 30 Minuten)

Tag 2:
An diesem Tag können Sie die kühle Luft in den Höhen des Bolaven-Plateaus genießen, gefolgt von einem langen, aufregenden Abstieg zurück nach Pakse. Am Morgen verlassen Sie das Sinouk Resort in einer Höhe von 1.000 Metern. Zunächst fahren Sie langsam bergauf Richtung Paksong und kommen an kleinen Gemeinden vorbei. Nach 23,5 Kilometern erreichen Sie die Spitze; dort beginnt dann die sanfte Abfahrt nach Paksong. Legen Sie am Tad-Yeuang-Wasserfall, einem der beeindruckendsten in diesem Gebiet, eine Pause ein und genießen Sie Ihr Mittagessen. Sie folgen im Anschluss weiter dem atemberaubenden Pfad abwärts und halten, um das Panorama des Tad-Fan-Wasserfalls zu bewundern, dem höchsten Wasserfall in Laos. Auf Ihrem Weg nach unten in die Stadt können Sie inmitten der Plantagen eine Kaffeepause einlegen und Obststände und kleine Geschäfte passieren sowie Schmiede, die Buschmesser herstellen, bei der Arbeit am Straßenrand beobachten. Während der letzten 8 Kilometer kommen Sie auf die belebtere und breitere Hauptstraße 13, die zurück nach Pakse führt.
