Before the ceremony, the guide will reveal some fascinating facts about Cambodian Buddhism, the daily life of the monks, and the rigorous disciplines they observe. Then, the ceremony will begin and your travelers will be blessed by the monks, who will chant holy words in the ancient Pali language and sprinkle participants with their holy water.
After giving a donation to the monks, a piece of red string will be tied around the right wrist. This represents sent the fading of negative thoughts and deeds from the travelers’ lives, as well as the advent of luck, health, and protection in return.
After the ceremony is complete, your travelers will have a chance to converse with the monks, exchanging some thoughts and ideas with the help of the tour guide as the translator, creating a truly deep bond between guest and monk.
