The Houey Hong Vocational Training Centre for Women is a weaving association with two main objectives: To provide training at various skill levels in weaving, dyeing and tailoring to women from rural areas and to revive Lao traditional handicrafts.
While visiting the center, travelers have opportunity to learn about its mission, development and engagement with the local community. They can learn how to tie and dye their own scarf using natural dyes and also try their hand at weaving using a traditional Lao loom.

Das Houey Hong Vocational Training Centre for Women ist eine Weberei-Vereinigung mit zwei Hauptzielen: Die Ausbildung von Frauen aus ländlichen Gebieten in den Bereichen Weben, Färben und Schneidern und die Wiederbelebung des traditionellen laotischen Kunsthandwerks auf verschiedenen Ebenen. Bei einem Besuch des Zentrums werden Sie Gelegenheit haben, etwas über die Aufgabe, die Entwicklung und die Zusammenarbeit mit der örtlichen Gemeinschaft zu erfahren. Sie können lernen, wie Sie Ihren eigenen Schal mit natürlichen Farbstoffen binden und färben, und Sie können sich auch im Weben auf einem traditionellen laotischen Webstuhl versuchen.
