When the Nam Hai opened its doors in 2006, it became one of the most luxurious hotels in Vietnam. However, when the Four Seasons took it over last year, 2016, the luxury brand gave the villa-only resort a new lease on life, renovating the majority of the accommodations and taking it from a place where guests did nothing more than laze on a pristine beach to a property boasting with a variety of activities for a more enriching experience.

Inspired by 2,500 years of history, The Nam Hai’s architecture and interior design present a dramatic play on wind and water inspired by ancient feng shui philosophy and the grandeur of Hue’s Tu Duc royal tombs. All 100 private retreats are elegantly finished with Vietnamese lacquer and diaphanous silk, reflecting the soul of Vietnam’s cultural heartland and illuminating the spirit of all who visit. The resort’s central area wraps around three tiers of infinity swimming pools – one of the world’s most stunning hotel pool areas.

These 100 accommodations feature outdoor showers and patios that look out to either a lush garden or the ocean. Most villas offer views over the South China Sea, and all are decorated in a sensual, contemporary Asian style; peaked roofs, dark wood floors, soothing colors and textures, and plush outdoor spaces where you can lie on over-sized loungers and be lulled to sleep by the ocean. They are generously proportioned; some have swimming pools, others sunken bathtubs, while family villas have additional dens to tuck two kids into comfortably.

This family-friendly resort provides children with mini-bathrobes, buckets and spades, and cuddly toys; those under five can also eat for free with their parents.

There are two restaurants; Café Nam Hai offering Western and Indian dishes, and the Vietnamese restaurant La Sen.

In Feb 2018, they launched a new yoga pavilion and introduction of Anti Gravity Yoga with a spacious 130-square-meter (1,400 square foot) serenity structure set among shady palms in the gardens bordering the Resort’s Heart of the Earth Spa.
