JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Sales Network Manager, your main mission is to develop and grow sales and client relationships in our Asia, Africa & Middle East markets.
As Business Development Manager, your main responsibilities are the following:
- Establish an overall business development strategy and its relevant objectives, implement and report its results
- Develop a portfolio of new clients in order to achieve sales targets
- Contribute to the development of an annual strategic plan for each of your markets
- Lead research and regular business reviews/sales reporting for your markets
- Contribute to the marketing and production strategies of your markets
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and suspects (tour operators, travel agents, and incentive houses in your regions).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
You have a higher education degree or equivalent experience in tourism or business and sales, and at least 5 years’ experience in international tourism or in an international sales management position in the tourism or hospitality industry. You are aware of sustainable tourism and its opportunities and challenges.
You’re open-minded, sensitive to cultural differences, and able to work in an international and multicultural environment. You are rigorous, ambitious, agile, and honest. You have a team spirit and the desire to write a new page in the company’s story.
Profile required
- You have an excellent command of English
- You are experienced in international tourism and know the Asia, Africa, and Middle East markets, their expectations, their stakeholders, and their different distribution networks
- Ideally, you are familiar with the tourism sector in Asia, specifically the destinations of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Japan
- You have strong sales and communication skills: you know how to approach and convince prospects
- You know how to synthesize and analyze data to establish a relevant strategy: you have a strong strategic mindset
- You’re interested in travel and the world around you, and appreciate the nuances and unique facets of different cultures
- You’re adaptable, curious, and have a professional, yet friendly, approach when working with team members
