Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock)

Known as ‘the Golden Rock,’ the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda is one of the most magical destinations in Myanmar. For both Buddhist pilgrims and tourists alike, it is very much a ‘must-visit place’. The history of the pagoda is legendary, as no official record of its past exists. The Buddhists believe that it was built during the lifetime of Buddha himself – nearly 2,500 years ago.
