Description

A treasure hunt is certainly a fun and playful way to discover the rich history of Luang Prabang, the scared city. Teams embark on an adventure to uncover the history of Luang Prabang by exploring and discovering some of its main sites. Along the way, a series of enigmas and puzzles must be solved to seek out the hidden treasure, which belongs only to the bravest and cleverest of all. Using dictionaries, tourist guides, and even speaking with local people is allowed, but obtaining any information or assistance from the guide is not permitted. All the questions must be answered, a crossword puzzle must be solved, negotiating skills with the local people practiced, and the answer to the grand question at the finishing point must be discovered. A stipend is given to each team to buy several souvenirs. May the best and bravest team win!

Game rules:

• Each group will create teams (2 people/team for FIT ; 5 people/team for GIT).
• Each team receive a stipend as well as a Treasure Hunt sheet which explains the rules.
• They will have to complete their answer sheet, including 9 questions to figure out the answer to the grand question in a crossword puzzle, and 9 challenges that will give them extra points.
• The winners will be rewarded with a gift.

• The guide first give explanations of the game and give the treasure sheets (answer sheet + Questions & Challenge sheet) and the envelop containing the stipend in cash (Laos kips) to each team. The guide is not allowed to give help to the participants.
• The guide go waiting for the guests at the entrance counter of Vat Xiengthong and give a tour of the temple to the first team arrived, while the driver goes away to not be seen by the participants.
• Once the last team has reached Vat Xiengthong, the guide go waiting for the guests at the National Museum and give a tour to the first team arrived.
• Once the last team has reached the National Museum, the guide goes to wait the guests at Vat Visoun and gives a tour to the first team arrived. He waits at Vat Visoun until all teams give him back their treasure hunt sheets.
• All the group go for lunch or dinner, meanwhile the guide correct all good answers in each team’s answer sheet and elect the winner team.
• After the meal the guide gives back all corrected answer sheets to each team and announce the winner team. Each participant of the winner team receive a gift. The guide answer all questions and explain the signification of Theravada Buddhism (The answer of the Grand Question).
